Saint-Tropez and the gendarmerie is a love story dating back to 1838, when the very first gendarmerie brigade “on foot” was created in the “city of Bailli de Suffren”. A sergeant and four gendarmes were in charge of the security of the Tropéziens.
Much later in the sixties, Saint-Tropez and the gendarmerie gained fame thanks to the filming of the episodes of the “gendarmes of Saint-Tropez”. In their honor, the old gendarmerie was transformed into “museum of the tropézien country”.
It was at the beginning of the 20th century, in 1908 that a large part of the winegrowers of Saint- Tropez decided to join forces to cultivate, vinify and market their wines. Like all the wines in the winery, the cuvée le Gendarme perpetuates this story today …
The technical and oenological choices used in the design of the Gendarme cuvée reflect the expression of wines from the tropezian coastline. This emblematic vintage embodies the historical heritage of Saint-Tropez and its art of living.
